Sponsor a Healthcare Professional / Run a 5k / Create a Spa Day at Home
(And make sure you are well-stocked in alcohol).
It’s day “who the F knows” over here in the Land of Quarantine. We live in NJ, so close to NYC that we have views of the skyline in our upper neighborhoods, but are lucky to be hunkered down at home.
And, of course, I feel some guilt about this. It’s a real privilege to be home right now (ask me around 3 pm today after a day of trying to WFH, homeschool a 6 yo and get an almost 4 yo to “peepee on the potty” and my answer might be slightly different, though…) But I digress. I’ve been trying to do my share - buying gift cards from local businesses, post messages of positivity on my social media feeds (who am I?), etc.
Inspired by a few other Beautycounter consultants, I put together a “Sponsor a Healthcare Professional” initiative: a teensy-tiny gesture in the grand scheme of things. If you’d like to donate a hand cream (or 10), please let me know. They will go directly to Rochester General Hospital, via my sister Jen, who is a cardiac nurse practitioner there. We might not be able to do much, but we can make sure they don’t have dry hands.
What else? Oh yes! Do you want to run a virtual 5K in April? What is a virtual 5K, you might ask? I created an event page on Facebook - go check it out here.
Last but not least, we seem to be “in it to win it” with this #quarantinelife. Let’s talk about some beauty hacks, the “stay at home edition”:
Grey hairs getting you down? Try this root powder (they also sell salon quality at-home color that I haven’t been brave enough to try yet…)
Eyebrows looking like the very hungry caterpillar(s)? At least you can give them a little bit extra shape and hold - try my favorite eyebrow pencil or a great brow gel…
Looking for a little R&R in the way of a spa day? How about an at-home spa day (except instead of a day, you will probably get about 10 minutes, especially if you have young kids. Make them count with some of these products….)
Overnight Resurfacing Peel + Cleansing Balm (as an overnight hydrating mask) - get your glow on!
Charcoal Mask + Countertime Supreme (night) Cream - detox and hydrate!
Lots of love to you all!
